"This house will become a shrine, and punks and skins and rastas will all gather round and hold their hands in sorrow for their fallen leader. And all the grown-ups will say, “But why are the kids crying?” And the kids will say, “Haven’t you heard? Rick is dead! The People’s Poet is dead!"

The Young Ones

R.I.P Rik Mayall. Completely gutted for comedy right now.

I am genuinely heartbroken that the People’s Poet is dead. Rik Mayall was the pioneer of alternative comedy and brought obscure British nonsense to mainstream viewing. Though never given enough credit for his work in comparison to many, the man was a GENIUS and influenced my political beliefs and even assisted sculpting me a sense of humor.
RIP Prick… ‘I mean Rik’.
